The diary was kept by Joshua DeWees who served during the Civil War with Co. D, 97th OVI IV Army Corps, Army of the Cumberland. His photo on the cover was provided by Donald DeWees, his grandson. The areas mentioned in the text include Murfreesboro; Missionary Ridge; Knoxville; Kennesaw Mountain; Peach Tree.
In acceptable condition, tight binding intact, no writing or underlining. Front cover has wear, back cover has a stain as shown in photos.
