Restored Vintage Panasonic Walkman Cassette and 50 similar items

This listing is for a VINTAGE PANASONIC WALKMAN CASSETTE PLAYER RQ-SX46, close to new, little used. This walkman plays fine on one side, on the other side has some fluctuations, so please use it on the side that plays normal to listen to your tapes. The side with fluctuations will likely resolve itself but might take months, the pinch roller on that side had stayed pressed against the capstan axel and it has left a press mark on the rubber of the pinch roller which with time the rubber will likely straighten out again since it is no longer pressed and the side will then play normal without fluctuations. To avoid such a problem from happening again when the battery goes dead, then put a new charged battery inside and press play and then press stop and wait for a second to disengage the mechanism and the pinch rollers will come down so they won't stay pressed against the capstan so you won't get any marks on the rubber of the pinch rollers in the future, don't just leave the walkman sitting with the dead battery inside for weeks or months. This walkman has a standard jack so many different brands of headphones can be plugged into it. PLEASE NOTE: Type of restoration done: Rubber drive drive belt was replaced, after the replacements the speed was adjusted properly with Sony Professional test tape at 3000Hz. Very frequently additional steps have been taken that are necessary to restore it to proper function but those steps I don't describe in the listing. ABOUT THE RESTORATION: Why is it important for the item to be restored? If you are buying vintage electronics that were NOT restored (no matter if used or brand new sitting in the box) and the sellers state were tested and work, you should know that they don't work as good as the day they left the factory without the need of any restoration work done. You should know that it is extremely rare( 1 in 10 or 20 chance) to see a vintage item working PERFECT after sitting for some 20+ years without the need of any restoration work done. This is because rubber gets old, plastics shrink and crack, electronic components that have liquid in them won't give the same performance as freshly made ones, etc. That is why it is important to buy an item that has been checked and restored. Repair places don't do restorations but just fault finding. They just find what electronic component is causing a device to malfunction and replace that component only.
