ABOUT: Ido Vunderink (1935-2021) was a Dutch painter and canine enthusiast. His work was inspired by flowers, landscapes, and people. While his landscapes and floral still lifes were highly stylized, his portraits were realistic and well-executed. Vunderink often painted portraits on commission, using a palette knife to create thick, textured strokes. His artistic journey included a period of textile design, but he later focused on painting, drawing inspiration from Nicolas de Stael.
