About The Record:
That Old Black Magic, by Bobby Rydell, was originally written by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer. It has become an often-recorded standard, with versions that include the original single release by Glenn Miller, by the singers Margaret Whiting, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Mercer himself, and others. Mercer wrote the lyrics with Judy Garland in mind after having a personal relationship with her. Bobby Rydell's version was released as as single from the album Bobby Rydell Salutes the Great Ones. It reached No. 21 on the Hot 100, and No. 13 in Canada.
