EAPG Flint Petal & Loop Covered Comport Bowl and 50 similar items

This is a lovely small covered footed comport dish made by the very early American glass company, Boston Sandwich. I do not know what Boston Sandwich called it, but collectors' name for this pattern is Petal Loop, AKA Elongated Loop. This pattern was introduced around 1850, so falls within the EAPG timeframe. I think this may be a sauce or jelly comport. It is 8 3/4 inches tall with the lid on. At the top of the bowl it is 5 3/4 inches wide. It is 3 7/8 inches wide at the bottom of the foot. Considering that it's about 170 years old, having some damage is not unexpected. There is a lot of wear on the bottom of the foot. There are six or more small chips on the inner edge of the bottom rim, with the largest being 10 mm by 5 mm (slightly over 1/4 inch long). On the top of the foot, along the outer edge are several chips, some are sharp, and the largest one is 6 mm by 2 mm. There are no chips on the beautiful scalloped top rim of the bowl! There are no chips on the knob or upper part of the lid. On the bottom of the lid, one chip is about fingertip size, or 13 mm by 6 mm. Next are 2 tiny chips, which together are 7 mm long, followed by another small chip 7 mm long. Then the largest chip is 20 mm long (3/4 inch) by 6 mm, followed by a very tiny chip 1 mm long, and some roughness along the edge of the lid. Fortunately, the lid chips are not visible when the lid is in place. This dish is flint glass and has a beautiful melodic ring when bumped (with the lid off). The glass is very clear and refractive, and sheds sparkling rainbows when in light! This will be shipped by either UPS Ground or USPS Ground Advantage rate (except for International).
