Item description
This is a vintage, 1924 Columbia Records recording of Irving Berlin's All Alone by two different artists; Side A by tenor Lewis James with Orchestra accompaniment and on side B, The Cavaliers, waltz artists. The record is described as popular music. This is an original shellac 78 RPM record in a period Victor sleeve. (The antique record is part of a collection that was randomly placed in sleeves. Obviously, the Victor sleeve did not belong with the Columbia Record but it is from the same time frame.) The record was released by the Columbia Phonograph Company in 1924 according to the reference cited below. I inherited this record more than 35 years ago from the original owner's family. It appears to be in good condition although there are scratches and it needs to be cleaned. (See photos) I have no way of playing the record to confirm whether or not it still plays. The paper sleeve is in nice shape for a 100 year old sleeve but there are tears and and bends. That it still exists, is rare. The antique Victrola record is sold as is. This would make a great gift idea framed for any who loves music history!
