American Alligator (Alligator Mississippiensis). #G-455 Natural coloring on this 62-3/4" (5.23 feet) long x 17" widest belly hide; 1 bullet hole mid-tail. Photos show front, back, and close-up of front. This hide has been beautifully tanned and restored to the natural coloring of the gator. Close up photo shows the sheen of the leather. Useful for any exotic leather projects you may have in mind, or to display on a wall just as it is. Legally caught/tagged gator from Florida. Wild gators have been harvested for 200 years, either live from government regulated hunts during the month of September in Louisiana, specific permits issued for rogue gators, or from legal egg collection by Alligator Farms from which gators are raised and a percentage released back to the wild. 100% of the gator is used in some way (meat goes to restaurants, skin has various uses from leather goods etc., heads feet sold as collectibles, you-name-it, it's used).
