Item description
You are buying 1 American Persimmon tree in a quart pot 6-12". As an addition to your landscape, this Kentucky native while a slow grower can be pruned initially to have either a strong central leader or open truck. Foliage color variety enhances any garden or open space, and this long oval leafed tree transforms through the seasons from light bright green, thru dark pine to fall colors. In the spring it has plentiful yellow-white waxy open bell shaped flowers. While fiercely bitter and sour unripe, the ripe persimmon is richly sweet and almost nutty in flavor. Your trees begin to bare fruit as early as three years from initial planting. Hardy in zones 7-9 grows well in moist loamy soil. Mature trees can handle some drought young trees can not. While very cold and freeze hardy it is good to protect your trees from early frosts in low lying areas, thus increasing ripening time. Shipping on all quart and 4" pots are 9.95 for the first pot and 1.00 for each additional pots.
Planting instructions included with every order. We are a licensed nursery in the state of TENNESSEE cert. #2235
California orders are shipped bare root due to CA restrictions on soil.
