Item description
Solid Brass Titanic Engine Room Telegraph 18" - Decorative Brass Nautical Telegraph
Brass Ship Telegraph handcrafted by the master artisans. An engine order telegraph is a communications device used on a ship (or submarine) for the pilot on the bridge to order engineers in the engine room to power the vessel at a certain desired speed. Fully functional telegraph handle moves as you turn it. Wooden base provides stability for the telegraph to stand upright.
The telegraph and its bell, also known as telegraph bell, are located both in the engine control room and the bridge. A responsible officer from each of the departments handles the telegraph from these locations. There is a changeover switch located in the ECR for telegraph selection which can be manually or automatically changed between the local control and engine control room telegraph.
The ship's Engine Telegraph is designed to send information from the control room to the engine room concerning the ships speed and direction. This ship's telegraph w/ wood base is one of the highest quality reproductions available. It features a lever on each side that moves in both directions. Each time the lever moves an internal bell rings. A best product for Home decor Office corner decor.
It makes a great conversation piece and looks amazing in the family room, living room, office, bar and restaurant. This item is available in size 18 "H. This is a replica engine telegraph which is based off of the world's most famous ocean liner, the Titanic. the engineers hear the bell and move their handle to the same position to signal their acknowledgment of the order, and adjust the engine speed accordingly.
