Local pickup only: Gorgeous antique sewing stand by an earlier incarnation of the Heywood Wakefield Co., known as the Wakefield Rattan Co. Heywood Wakefield started out in the mid 1800s as the Wakefield Rattan Company (1855-1897) and the Heywood Brothers Company (1868-1897)The top of the stand is basket shaped with interior storage, a hinged lid, and a handle. It has the typical curlicues common to Heywood Wakefield pieces. It has an open shelf below. It's in natural original finish. The stand retains the original label although it's a bit hard to read. The stand is in very good condition for the age and delicacy of the design, but has a few little breaks here and there (not super noticeable, unless you examine it). There are two spots where the curlicue accents are off. One of these and a part of one are in the lidded basket top. The stand measures 27" tall (not counting the handle being raised) about 14 1/2" wide, and about 11 1/2" from front to back. Extraordinary example! Local pick up is best, but you are more than welcome to arrange your own shipping, if desired.
