JURASSIC TODILTO LIMESTONE
(uranium) MINERAL ROCK
$42.00 plus $12.80 shipping 10.2 oz weight
286 grams
The rock was found, on the ground,
surface near Grants NM.
It was prospected during March 2019.
Its activity level is in the faster range,
relative to other similar natural rocks and
above that of FiestaWare red plates.
Measurement was done with a Ludlum
2200 geiger-scaler, the most accurate
geiger instrument now available. Its
measured response rate is 57k CPM,
which is approximately 1.9 times that
measured from FiestaWare ceramic
dinner plates crafted during the Fiesta-
are uranium era, 1936-1943. The
white dot, seen in photos, identifies
the surface area with fastest activity.
The multiple separate LAYERS, the
prime feature of sedimentary limestone
or sandstone rock material, is easily
seen on the rock's several side-edges.
Weight of rock: 20.0 oz (560 grams)
WHAT TYPE OF MINERAL
IS THE ROCK?
It is likely Jurassic todilto limestone uranium,
the most common uranium-bearing mineral at
this uranium field. During the Jurassic era,
200 million to 146 million years ago, the canyon
was a very large lake. When dinosaurs drowned in
the lake, their carcasses were fossilized. Today,
the Northwestern Cliffs at the canyon are part
of the famed Morrison Formation, known for
rich deposits of uranium and dinosaur fossils.
Advice from geologists who can identify this
ore more precisely will be appreciated. The
uranium canyon is approximately 20 miles
NW from Grants NM. It is part of the "New
Mexico Uranium Belt;" 65% of all uranium
ore ever produced in the USA came from
mines located within 60 miles of this site.
The JTL rocks are easily noticed, because
these are the only rocks at this location
that have visible MULTIPLE LAYERS.
This JTL rock, common at Jurassic Canyon, is rare or absent from all other uranium fields, anywhere in the world. Its rare climatological history promoted the movement of large amounts of radioactive minerals to the terraine near Grants NM. The JTL's astounding characteristic, is that deceased dinosaurs were transformed from biological entities to sandstone or limestone hardened rocks, which are the fossils. At
this location, Jurassic Canyon, radioactive dinosaur
fossils are found ONLY in JTL rocks, NOT in any
of the other four types of uranium ore that are
available here! The New Mexico Museum of Natural
History, at Albuquerque, has many dinosaur fossils,
but if any are radioactive, then those are from
this site, Jurassic Canyon.
NAME OF THIS URANIUM CANYON
The previous location name, Poison Canyon, was misleading.
The older location name has nothing to do with either uranium
or radioactivity. This canyon has several non-radioactive
minerals (e.g., selenium, arsenic) that are toxic if eaten
by livestock such as cattle or sheep. The new name,
Jurassic Canyon, is geologically and historically correct,
because the massive amount of uranium ore was released
to the surface here from the Mt. Taylor active volcano
during the Jurassic Era, when dinosaurs were common. In
June 2021, I found TWO fossilized juvenile velociraptor
skulls, both highly radioactive. If I find a third dinosaur fossil,
I will invite paleontologists (dinosaur scientists) from Univ. of
Chicago or from Yale Univ. to join me here at the canyon.
BONUS 40-MINUTE DVD VIDEO,
NOT FOUND ON YOUTUBE!
Enclosed with the uranium rock will be
my original DVD video disk, dated March
2017 and July 2019. This 40-minute
video provides a narrated video tour of
the NM locale where many rocks can be
found through prospecting. This exclusive DVD
video program is enclosed at no extra cost.
(This video is NOT to be uploaded to YouTube.)
ALL GOVERNMENTAL AND POSTAL
REGULATIONS ARE FOLLOWED
These regulations allow rock collectors to
own and to mail natural uranium rocks. The
federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM)
owns uranium fields and allows hobbyist "rock
hounds" to gather rocks at those fields. The
rocks must be properly labeled, and must be
double-boxed when mailed. The federal Nuclear
Regulatory Commission (NRC) does not allow manufacturing
of anything from the rocks without an advance
NRC license. The rock parcels can be mailed
to addresses within the USA but are NOT
allowed to be exported to any foreign country.
SHIPPING NOTES
I do combined shipping, so look at my other
ads, also. If you order two or more items,
pay the postage as stated in the ad. Then,
when the parcel is mailed, I will refund
any overpayment on postage above
the actual cost of postage. The
parcel will be wrapped and shipped in
accordance with all postal regulations.
The following postal statement will
be affixed to the package
