The directors set out to parody drive-in features and make the lowest-budgeted, fastest New World picture in history. They succeded! It's a crazed, fast-paced, paste-up job about filming 'Machete Maidens of Maratau' for Miracle Pictures--with a masked killer on the set. Scenes from 'The Terror' and 'Battle Beyond the Sun' are used along with appearances by Robby the Robot, Dick Miller as Walter Paisley, Forrest J. Ackerman ('Famous Monsters of Filmland' magazine), director Paul Bartel as director Von Leppe, Commander Cody and His Lost Planet of Airmen live performance, and a final confrontation on top of the Hollywood sign.
