Item description
Brand new factory sealed vhs tape is Out Of Print (OOP) in all formats and no longer being manufactured. Full screen version is perfect for old school televisons as the image will fill your square screen.
The story is told primarily in flashback with the opening and closing sequences taking place in the year 2670 A.D. Upstart apes plot to promote a culture that treats men and apes equally, but insurrectionist gorillas thwart this movement with the help of atomic bomb human mutants. The simmering tensions and conflicts erupt in a desperate confrontation that is the explosive climax. Roddy McDowall is back as Caesar and Claude Akins is the leader of the growlin' disssidents.
The ape casting gets funnier than ever. Have fun spotting Paul Williams, Lew Ayres, John Huston (a director given to making guest appearences as an actor in the most unlikely of films), and Sam Jaffe as the lawgiver. The human hero is Austin Stoker (John Carpenter's 'Assault on Precinct 13'). The next stop for Roddy and the apes was a short-lived TV series.
