STAR WARS Vintage 1977-release R2D2 Model and similar items

The box certainly shows the wear of hard travel through the decades. It was with me new as a model to be built in '78 or '79 (the high school years). It traveled (unbuilt/boxed) to college with me ('82 to '87), gracing a shelf in my dorm along side a huge shuttle model (about 2 feet long) and a realistic 2-piece Darth Vader wearable mask/headpiece. It spent time displayed and squirreled away in storage boxes through 3 major moves since then. Now it's time to severly down-size life, which means parting ways with old companions such as this R2 unit. All the pieces are there, and the stick-on decals appear to be in excellent shape. Like Han said about the Falcon, "She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid." There are certainly pristine boxed/sealed kits out there for sale, but this one is for the model builder that doesn't want to feel guilty about breaking the seal on one of those. Now you can get your hands on vintage plastic and model like it's 1977! You can also save my email address and send pics of this old friend of mine finally finished - I'd really appreciate that!
