First Book Club edition, first printing.
Contains publisher's first printing code "D6" on page 206 indicating the first Book Club edition printing publication date of February 1962.
Contains the same evocative, masked man, planets, space-girlie, un-credited dust jacket art as the original publisher's first edition.
The first title in the HUB four book series.
Schmitz is most well-known for THE WITCHES OF KARRES.
Light uniform age-toning to the end-papers, else very good plus in textured brick-red boards with white titles to the spine, yellow headband and tail-band; in a very good dust jacket with a 1.5 inch tear to the lower front panel near the spine, minor fading to the spine panel, light soiling, and with small nicks and very short tears to the upper and lower spine edges; original "Book Club Edition" printed to the front inner flap.
