Also includes an account of the his service in the Civil War with the 176th regiment, New York Volunteers, 1862-1865. George Haven Putnam (1844--1930) was an American publisher, soldier, and writer. He was the president of G.P. Putnam's sons for its first 52 years, from 1872. Tall octavo. 447 pages; indexed. It appears that some copies were issued with a frontispiece and at least one more illustration and some were not. This copy has no illustrations.
