BIG RED FOREST PATROL by Jim Kjelgaard llustrated by Bob Kuhn George Meyerriecks Comet Books, First Paperbound Printings, 1949 Condition: Very Good Minus Two illustrated novels for young people, published by Comet Books, a short-lived offshoot of Pocket Books. RED is a boy-and-his-dog story, while PATROL concerns a young forest ranger fighting fire and wolves in the Alleghany mountains. RED has some curl due to improper storage, some cover creasing and edge wear fading of rear free end paper. PATROL has a heavy front cover crease, closed spine slits and exterior soiling. Some darkening in page margins, but bindings are firm and no markings observed. Uncommon books.
