Paper size of these direct photo prints is 3 1/4" x 4 5/8". They is on Velox paper which was inconvenient in ways but returned a superior and more lasting direct contact print and that is why commercial art studios and professional photographers used it. Very likely made soon after they were taken and likely at Saipan itself or on a ship there. They came to me as part of a group identified as being Saipan and included was a shot of the base Chapel which confirms it. The exact date was not noted and as the island is listed in Guinness as being the most consistent climate we can't really tell what time of year this is. Twofer deal here for you because I cannot see splitting this pair; you lose so much of the character of the individual by not having the range. One photo is artistically staged and could well stand for James Bond on the cover of a paperback novel. The other looks like he is about to pass out. So if we take a statistical approach, this guy was probably a pretty square fellow in the good sense and entertaining as well. Very Good to Excellent condition.
