Item description
VINTAGE WOOD MANDOLIN VEGETABLE SLICER
Wood Vegetable Cutter
Japanese
Mandolin Style
Possibly Benriner
This smaller vintage wood mandolin style vegetable cutter
has Japanese writing on each end. It
looks like a Benriner slicer, but I could not find a name on it anywhere. It is missing one of the screws that holds
the blade in place, and the original owners name has been written in red marker
on the wood portion of the slicer. It
does have some rust and discoloration on the blade and metal screws. The wood has a nice old aged patina to
it. The blade is still sharp. The slicer measures approximately 12 OE inches
long, 3 oe inches across, and 1 1/8 inches wide.
The blade is approximately 1 inch wide, and 3 OE inches long. The blade is set into the wood at an
angle. There is a screw that would move
one section of the wood up or down to get the vegetable being sliced the desired
thickness. While not useable as is, this
would make a great addition to any collection of vintage kitchen gadgets,
especially if displayed with other gadgets used in canning or preserving
food. When properly packaged it will
ship at a 2 pound rate.
