Vintage Hopi Adrian Harry Hand Carved 7.75" MUDHEAD KACHINA KATSINA DOLL C1990s For your consideration is this wonderful rendition of the Hopi Mudhead kachina doll, hand carved by Hopi master carver Adrian Harry, circa 1998. This Hopi Mudhead Kachina Doll depicts the only deity that can take on the personalities of all katsinam! With open eyes and mouth, the head is trimmed with tiny, carved feathers, a hair knot and head gourds. He wears a black skirt with thin bands of color and wears a red bandana. He is covered in the mud that clung to him as he emerged into this, the Fourth World of the Hopi. This fabulous Mudhead Kachina Doll measures approx 7-3/4" tall (including base) x 3" wide.
