Item description
Vintage original 10.25 x 14 in. US double-weight semi-glossy oversized photograph from the 1960s British comedy/drama, THE MADWOMAN OF CHAILLOT, released in 1969 in the US by Warner Bros./Seven Arts and directed by Bryan Forbes. Katharine Hepburn stars as the nice, eccentric, idealistic and slightly mad Countess Aurelia, who believes that the good must prevail over evil, decides to stand up to corrupt powerful leaders of Paris by putting them on trial with "unwashed masses" as the jury.
The image depicts a close interior shot of Countess Aurelia (Katharine Hepburn). This photograph comes from a newspaper archive and features grease pencil marks in the bottom border in the printed description. Affixed to the bottom of the recto with marking tape and two staples in a slightly opaque cel with "REVERSE TYPE - DROP OUT OF HALFTONE AS WHITE" handwritten in blue grease pencil with various printed words affixed in the top left corner. It is in overall fine+ condition as shown.
Provenance: The Hearst Los Angeles Herald Examiner newspaper archive.
