Vintage original 11 x 14 in. US lobby card from the teens WWI-themed silent film war drama/romance, THE SPY, released in 1917 and directed by Richard Stanton. The image depicts Mark Quintance (Dustin Farnum), an American spy in Germany, as he talks with Freiheer Von Wittzchaeft (William Burgess) while the American Ambassador (Charles Clary) listens to their conversation from behind the German military officer. It us unrestored in fine+ condition. An American is sent to Germany to unearth the identities of German agents operating in the U.S. He infiltrates the German secret service in an attempt to abscond with a list of undercover German operatives.
