Item description

Ruth E. Gutfrucht (1918-1993) "Farmyard Forms" c.1960 Artist's Proof Engraving. Signed and titled in pencil. Ruth E. Gutfrucht (1918-1993) joined RIT's (ROCHESTER INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY) faculty full-time in 1947, where she taught perspective, lettering, layout, typography, and advertising in the design department. In 1977, she was awarded the Eisenhart Award for Outstanding Teaching in recognition of her efforts in the classroom. The Ruth E. Gutfrucht Design Collection mostly contains pieces of design work by Gutfrucht and her students. She was a past president of The Print Club of Rochester (Ralph Avery among others were as well). She had works displayed at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. Dimensions: 8" x 10.5" and 11.25" x 15" matted Condition Report: Excellent Condition
