These plants are a rich source of vitamin E and vitamin C which enable better absorption. Vitamin E prevents the formation and accumulation of peroxides, especially semi-unsaturated fatty acids, which are formed by the action of molecular oxygen. It is used to suppress the harmful effects of excess (accumulation) of free radicals. Vitamin E neutralizes free radicals (by direct action), and glutathione neutralizes electrophiles, so far determined in the liver, but it is assumed that it is the same in all other parts of the body.
