L-Mesitran Ointment antibact. Wound Gel Indicated for the treatment of chronic and acute wounds, whether deep or superficial, L-Mesitran Ointment effectively kills bacteria and fungi 1,2,3,4,5 and facilitates the removal of necrotic and sloughy tissue from the surface of the wound. The ointment can be used to debride and cleanse infected or non-infected wounds and reduce malodour 2,6. A thin layer applied on the wound bed is sufficient for optimal effect; reapplication is necessary as the ointment is diluted by exudate. When to use L-Mesitran Ointment: L-Mesitran Ointment is indicated for chronic wounds, pressure ulcers (Stage I ? IV), venous stasis ulcers, fungating wounds (to help deodorise and/or debride), colonised acute wounds, surgical wounds, post-operative wounds, traumatic wounds (superficial wounds, cuts) and superficial and partial thickness burns. Reapply the product every 24-48 hours.
