Item description

Elizabeth of the Trinity Art Print Sue Kouma Johnson drew this image of Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity with colored pencils on paper, 6 x 8 inches, finished size."You will either be a terror or a saint," her mother had said of the stubborn little girl who often demanded her way. Elizabeth Catez, who was born in France in 1880, had a violent temper, which abated completely by the time she received her first Communion at age eleven.Leaving a promising career as a concert pianist, she was truly happy when she entered a Carmelite convent. She spent only five years there, before her death on 9 November 1906 at age twenty-six. Elizabeth was almost a contemporary of Therese of Lisieux, who died at age 24 in 1897. While St Therese gave the world her "Ïlittle way" Elizabeth Catez was the "prophet of the presence of God" When St John Paul beatified her on 25 November 1984, he presented her to the Church as one "who led a life hidden with Christ in God." "God dwells within you, do not leave Him so often," she advised. There is an intensity to her eyes, which can be seen in the numerous photos of Saint Elizabeth. "As I drew this colored pencil portrait, her form assumed a triangular shape, which I had not planned on, but is a symbol of the Trinity, whom Elizabeth referred to often as, 'my Three,'" says the artist. She is patron saint of the sick and those who have lost their parents. IMPORTANT: Each of the 3 sizes indicates outside dimensions. There is a border of white left around the image, approximately 1 1/2" to 2" all around.Signed by artist Archival QualityComes in a close-fitting crystal-clear plastic sleeve with a whiteboard backing.Archival Quality: All our prints are made using premium acid-free fine art paper in card thickness, and high quality Epson pigments (instead of dyes), rated by a third party to last 200+ years when not hung in direct sunlight.
