In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Wedgwood pottery in 1759, a major exhibition was held at the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Museum in Washington , D.C.: Wedgwood: 250 Years of Innovation and Artistry from October 2009 through February 2010. Both a catalogue and jasper medallion were made and are offered by the W-250 Committee Co-Chair. Offered here is an exclusive Wedgwood-250 Anniversary Commemorative Medallion in solid pale blue jasper featuring in white relief the iconic portrait bust of the company founder, Josiah Wedgwood I, and ribbons with the celebration text as shown in the photo. This self-framed oval plaque measures 4 3/8" x 3 3/8" x 7/16" thick and is back-stamped in gold ".....made especially for the................" (see photo). It is also impressed "Wedgwood made in England" along with potters' marks. This was made in a limited quantity of only 300.
