1920's Christmas Village Brown Glitter small house Christmas Ornament Train yard Putz Japan cardboard house 1920's Vintage CHRISTMAS VILLAGE HOUSE Christmas Tree Ornament (has remnants of a string on the roof of the house which was a loop for hanging on a Christmas tree). Could also have been used as a Train Yard House Train Set Miniature House PUTZ Japan Paper Mache Houses sold for 25 to 29 cents and were popular during the 1920's in Christmas villages and miniature train yards, when train sets were the "must have" toy under the Christmas tree for every little boy. This smaller train yard style house has a brown glitter exterior and a white glitter sloped roof. This "modern style" small Christmas Village house features an arched window, (or could be a door, although the placement is a bit high), with a blue, green and yellow printed insert, and there is a small square window facing the front of the house. The roof has a light coating of faded glitter/snow, and there is a hole in the back of the house for inserting a medium sized Christmas light bulb Has a cardboard white painted flat base marked JAPAN on the bottom Measures aprox 2-34" wide x 3" high CONDITION: Good condition. Large arched door/window insert is intact, but there is a small tear in the celluloid, the smaller square window insert is missing. Edge of one corner of the roof and base has slight curl and there is what looks like a water mark stain on the very bottom underneath.
