Red is the hot color, and represents things like Pride, or Passions, or Deep Felt Emotions

Yellow is the brightest color & Represents Fun, Happiness, Joy, Lots of Energy like the Sun, still has!

Green is for Growing, or Wealth or Health!

Blue is for Cooling, Calming, Slowing Down, Relaxing, or thinking.

Indigo which is liken to between purple and deep blue is the color of the infinite, restfullness, harmony

Purple has for a long time represented Royalty, Wisdom, Mystical, or Powerful

Black represents the dark, evil, a negative, bad mood, mourning, death, blankness but is also representative of Classy, Class or Classic!

(White is the inclusion of ALL colors and represents Purity, also Innocence & God, Light, or Heaven.)

Very interesting question and nice to know the meaning of each color. I would have never thought of connecting the colors with meanings. Thanks for posting.
