When I list an item on Bonanzle… I know how to click on the “upload” button and search my computer files or camera for the photo… but what if the photo I need is not on my camera or computer but already uploaded to another web site or picture host? Thanks for any help!

You can still use that uploaded photo. Just click on the picture icon in the editor, you will get a pop up window. In the top of that window, first slot, you can paste in the url to your image. Use the direct url that begins with [URL removed] your image will show up in the description area. I do it all the time.
You can not get your uploaded photo to show in the thumbnail place. You would need to save that image to your computer, then upload to the thumbnail slot.

Actually, you CAN upload a picture from anywhere on the web. To get the URL of the picture on the web you want, right-click on the picture, then click properties. COPY the url of the image; then click the upload link, and when the box opens showing your hard drive and folders, just paste in the URL of the photo. This right-click procedure works with IE; other browsers may do it differently, but they all allow you to see the file path of the pic somehow.
Hope that helps.

Hotlinking to a URL may get you in trouble.
You are using someone else’s bandwidth and may also be infringing upon a copyright!
Make sure you have permissions.

In transferring photos from another selling venue (our own photos) we have right clicked on the photo there and Saved As into our computer. Then entered the photo here. The one problem we’ve noticed is that those photos will not enlarge normally when we click on them here.

If it is not your photo, ask for permission to use it first. If it is an original work, you are infringing on their copyright and could owe them a lawsuit or a tidy sum for its use.

If you have many pictures tied to multiple products on another site, check if there is an export ability on that site (maybe to create a google feed file). That should let you export all those image URLs. Then you upload that feed here. Most of the column headers are recognized and you can just go in, check each item, set categories etc. You will see the images over here automatically.

I would suggest you add your photo’s to a disk or a buzz drive. I keep all of my photos in folders under the companies name. That way i can remember where i got the items from. I would not suggest a outside link to other locations. I have about 20 disk marked with companies names of nothing but photo’s.
Good Luck

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:
- "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
- When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
