The Best Shopify Alternative for an Online Store of Your Own

Bonanza is a collective marketplace with items listed by many sellers, but a Bonanza Webstore acts as a standalone e-commerce website. With a Bonanza Webstore, you get a beautiful online site which includes a secure shopping cart to sell your products through a web home that's all your own.

Sync your eCommerce store inventory

Every Webstore is linked to a Bonanza booth, making inventory management easy and free. If you sell on other marketplaces, you can use Bonanza's auto-sync tools to keep it up-to-date across all platforms. Seamless and simple. Just the way we like it.

Bonanza allows you to build an eCommerce website with the click of a button.

Our goal is to help eCommerce entrepreneurs build a profitable business, without any of the busywork. Since Bonanza is both a marketplace and a standalone eCommerce platform, you get a wide range of features for expanding your brand and bringing in more customers to buy products.

What Makes Bonanza Webstores Stand Out?

  • Your own brand. Along with a fully functional marketplace booth, which puts your brand name in front of buyers who are searching the Bonanza website, you can also create your own standalone “Webstore,” which is just like any standard website you would use to expand your brand and create a unique online presence.

  • Free Trial. The 14-day free trial is a solid amount of time to see how your new store will look and give you time to decide if a Webstore fits your online selling needs. You can cancel at any time, and there are zero payment requirements until you actually open your store.

  • No Transaction Fees. Reasonably priced at a flat rate of $25 per month (or $255 per year for the annual subscription), you don't have to worry about any other add-on fees. Along with decent pricing, Webstore sales have ZERO transaction fees.

  • Mobile Responsiveness.
With Google cracking down on websites that don't provide mobile responsiveness, it's essential to ensure that your online store is easily viewable on a tablet or smartphone. When you build a site with Bonanza, all the components snap into place without the need for an additional mobile store or extra coding on your end.

  • Your own domain. Your Webstore automatically comes with a Bonanza subdomain named after your Bonanza booth, for example, yourstore.bonanza.com. Or, you can choose to use your own custom domain name, for example, my-awesome-store.com, and get it free for the first year of your annual Webstore subscription.

  • Easy Set-up. The primary goal with our Webstore is to get your online store up and running without a fuss. The customizable themes are easy to choose and implement, and they don't require any coding for a fully responsive and comprehensive interface.

  • Social Media. When it's time to start representing your brand to the social media world, we've created a list of the best and most powerful methods for you to leverage social media as advertising. You can connect with all of your customers on those social network platforms and share promotions and events.

Best of Both Worlds

In the world of eCommerce, there are countless choices online sellers have to make. It can seem like an impossible task to try and choose between an online marketplace with established shoppers and a supportive community, or a standalone website where you can control your branding and customization. With Bonanza Webstores, you don’t have to choose. Now, you can access millions of shoppers through the marketplace while also building your own brand at your standalone site.

Open yours today!

If we operate more than one store on Bonanza can the inventory from the others be populated in the webstore?

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 07:50:42

Hi sunraycity! Thanks for your question. The webstore syncs to a single booth on Bonanza. So if your booth is syncing with eBay, your webstore will also be updated when a change is made. But the webstore can only be connected to one booth, not several. Let us know if you have any other questions at [email protected]. Take care!

Does our own webstore benefit from SEO through Bonanza or do we still need to do that on our own?

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 12:57:09

Hi ElegantArtifacts! Thanks for the question. Keywords from your listings can result in hits from an organic Google search, same as they do on Bonanza. If we can help in any other way let us know.

Tiffanys_Etc says: 07/27/21 at 08:05:59

Hi, Is there any phone support for the website?
Thanks

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 12:58:34

Hi Tiffanys_Etc! We do not currently have phone support, but we have an outstanding customer service team that can assist you through email or, if you have a membership, through chat.

bedroompleasurestore says: 07/27/21 at 08:19:46

Good day,

Does this give us the option to list Adult items, toys, vibrators etc? Thank you kindly

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 13:02:54

Hi DplB! Thanks for asking. The webstores will match up exactly to your booth on Bonanza. This means that your items must comply with Bonanza’s prohibited item policy.

kevins_tv_repair says: 07/27/21 at 08:25:21

So if I get a webstore costing $25/months, so I still get charged 19% for each item I sell? Also what level of advertising do I get for a webstore? Thanks

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 13:25:39

Hi kevins_tv_repair! There aren’t any hidden costs with the online stores. There is no fee when an item is sold on your website.

ElegantArtifacts says: 07/27/21 at 08:33:54

One other question. Would our webstore be a subdomain of Bonanza and therefore somewhat burried from search engines? I had an Etsy Pattern website for a while and it was so buried you could hardly locate it.

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 13:40:04

Hi ElegantArtifacts! While your Webstore is automatically published as a subdomain on Bonanza, we do recommend getting your own domain name. This can give shoppers more confidence in your brand, and is required if you wish to advertise your Webstore listings on Google Shopping.

If you don’t have a domain name, you can claim one through Bonanza and get it free for the first year of your Webstore subscription.

How is this different than what I have now with Bonanza synched to my ebay store?

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 13:53:53

Hi downrightspecialkids! Great question, we created a specific help page just to answer it! https://support.bonanza.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000656151-Booth-vs-Webstore-What-s-the-Difference-

Let me know if you have any other questions!

techkup says: 07/27/21 at 09:14:20

I wish I would have known about this sooner I recently opened an “other” online store because it was the only way I could find to end old listings on eBay but keep them active on another site and not loose all the time invested in listing them. That was the reason I joined Bonanza in the first place but then eBay killed the 30 day listings!

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 14:07:39

Hi Techkup! Once your listings have been imported to Bonanza, you can adjust your settings to ensure the listings stay on Bonanza regardless of what happens to them on eBay. We have so many import options! Let me know if I can help you with your booth or if you decide to try a Bonanza Webstore.

media_plus says: 07/27/21 at 09:15:18

How is the credit card payment processing handled? I have my own processor at very low rates so most other processors do not have low rates. What are the fees per transaction for processing the credit card? What is the % charged on the transaction and above all are there interchange fees on the credit card transaction?

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 14:15:07

Hi media_plus! Sales from your online store will automatically be connected to your payment processors on Bonanza, PayPal and/or Stripe. Their fees will be the same as for your booth.

KarinH7706 says: 07/27/21 at 10:02:25

How do I know that my ebay merchandise is synced with bonanza?

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 14:19:40

Hi KarinH7706! Thanks for asking about your sync. To check your setup, point to Selling at the top left of any page and in the dropdown menu click on eBay Importer. The most common settings are pre-selected and you can make any adjustments needed. Then click on the green button to “Start your eBay Import”. (Your booth is not syncing yet.) Your account will continue to sync according to the settings you select. We’d be happy to take a look and give you a hand at [email protected]. Take care!

Can you cancel your store anytime after the free trial,or are you contracted for a certain period?

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 14:46:01

Hi bonzuser_cvviv,
The free trial is for two weeks to give you the opportunity to set everything up just the way you want. To activate the store and get a domain you pay for the first month or year. If you stop paying the $25 monthly hosting fee, you cancel your Webstore. Your items will remain listed on Bonanza.com until you remove them. During that time, your Webstore’s domain will redirect to your Bonanza booth.Let us know if we can answer any other questions.

ZarzuellaBooks says: 07/27/21 at 10:30:03

My booth is synched to eBay. Can I select which items connect to the webstore if I don’t want everything to carry over?

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 14:52:37

Hi ZarzuellaBooks! The Webstore will be created from your booth with all the items you have listed there. However, you do have the option to only select some of the listings for the Webstore. Thanks for asking!

UniquelyJewellGifts says: 07/27/21 at 10:35:16

I have a question I am going to open a webstore; however I would like to have my own URL and do not want to use UniquelyJewellGifts. If I choose a my own custom domain will I still be able to sync with Bonanza and ebay?

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 14:54:28

Hi UniquelyJewellGifts! You may choose any available domain name for your online store. It will not affect the sync of your listings to Bonanza and eBay. Thanks for asking!

CGOshopper says: 07/27/21 at 10:40:39

After the trial period can I cancel at ay time at no cost?

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/27/21 at 15:04:00

Hi CGOshopper! No, there is no cost to you during the trial period of 14 days. After the trial period, you will have the option to buy a month or year of the hosting service to publish your online store. Thanks for your great question!

Norskmedia says: 07/27/21 at 11:53:09

does the webstore bring in any extra traffic or is it about the same as a regular booth in terms of being found or noticed? thank you

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/28/21 at 14:04:33

Hi Norskmedia! The webstores will be similar to a booth. You would have to set up a way to drive traffic to the webstore. We have some tips here: https://support.bonanza.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000602012-6-Influential-Social-Media-Sites-That-Will-Drive-Shoppers-to-Your-Webstore

SpaceAgeAntiques says: 07/27/21 at 12:25:28

PJSTOCK46_ says: 07/27/21 at 13:13:40

Is this website offer available for sellers based in uk

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/28/21 at 14:00:09

Hi PJSTOCK46! You can buy an online store, but the new VAT requirement has not been fully implemented yet so you would not be able to make any sales inside the affected area. You would only be able to sell to the US and countries where the VAT doesn’t apply. We should have a new system in place soon.

1- Using my own domain name, but somehow thru Bonanza, will it need an SSL ? 2- Lets say my orders get paid to paypal…will that interface transfer all buyer information in order to utilize Paypal’s multi-order shipping ? 3- Will the webstore automatically “talk to paypal” and capture the tracking number and email the customer about the shipment?

BonanzaJudy says in response: 07/28/21 at 05:49:38

Hi,

Great questions! All domains must have an SSL installed, Bonanza provides that SSL For you. IF the SSL is not working on your domain here at Bonanza, please email support so we can fix that up for you!

The same checkout for the booth works on the webstore. The webstore orders appear in the same backend seller dashboard as the booth orders.

Tracking and shipping works exactly the same as the booth. IF you are using the Bonanza “buy shipping” the tracking is automatically added and the buyer notified. If you are using a third party service such as shipworks, the tracking automatically uploads to the orders and the buyer is notified. If the label is produced on Paypal or elsewhere, then the tracking must be manually copy/pasted into the order tracking field, Then the buyer is notified.

On the web store what are the management fees they are talking about

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/28/21 at 12:32:46

Hi JohnR64075! There are no management fees on the Webstore. We have a program you can add to buy advertising from Google Shopping for which there is a small fee.

JohnR64075 says: 07/27/21 at 21:00:53

On my webstore when I log into jltrain.net it says it is not
Secure I get this message
Your connection isn’t private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.jltrain.net (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).
NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

BonanzaJudy says in response: 07/28/21 at 12:32:59

HI JohnR64075

Thank you for asking about the SSL.

The SSL takes 24 hours to install on any new webstore. Once the DNS settings are configured, then the SSL install can be requested. After the request it takes 24 hours to install.

Your domain and webstore are brand new so that is why you received that message.

The good thing. The SSL has already installed and the domain is now showing as secure.

can i sell in webstore sex dolls and adult sex toys . becuase cannot sell in bonanza booth

BonanzaJudy says in response: 07/28/21 at 05:50:39

Hi!

Prohibited items policy applies to the booth and webstore alike. Prohibited items are not allowed in the webstore.

TraderLynns says: 07/28/21 at 04:29:32

Thank you for answering my question.

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/28/21 at 12:27:50

You’re very welcome!

golddustwoman says: 07/28/21 at 04:38:34

Hi! Since Bonanza’s phone listing app was sadly lacking, I understand it will be discontinued. So, has Bonanza created a new and functional app that will allow us to list items to our new webstores? Our family desktop PC is not always available to me, so most of the time, I need to list items using my tablet.

BonanzaJudy says in response: 07/28/21 at 12:38:53

Hi,

The webstore listings are populated from the booth. So if the listing is in the booth, the listing will appear in the webstore. The webstore does have the ability to restrict booth listings so they will not appear in the webstore. So there isn’t a need to list in the webstore, just list in the booth and the listings will be in the webstore too.

Concerning the seller app, there isn’t a new app currently in the works. However you can still use your tablet to list using the regular Bonanza.com or the m.bonanza.com site. But the seller’s app will not be an option.

lostplanet says: 07/28/21 at 05:04:16

The webstore is a great referral link to your regular customers. putting your full booth address on a package doesn’t work, but a short web address is much easier. I have one that redirects to my store and I send ad slips in packages with whatever coupon code I have running. I easily sell enough from my webstore to cover the monthly cost.

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/28/21 at 12:25:52

Hi gravityvideo! Thanks for the tips on using our webstore. We’re glad to hear it is working well for you! Take care!

cellularwholesales says: 07/29/21 at 06:56:32

Is there any way to connect my Bonanza WebSTore to Facebook Shops? I moved to Shopify because of this but I found it very inconvenient so I came back to Bonanza, still trying to figure that.

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/30/21 at 12:35:39

Hi cellularwholesales! Thanks for asking about connecting to Facebook. Yes, you can do this. You will need a business Facebook account, then you just add the “Shop now” button and use your ebstore URL.
Take care!

UniqueTreasures4U says: 07/29/21 at 15:46:55

So I have been checking this out and I went to the link provided by Bonanza in the article Booth vs Webstore http://www.greenbeedecor.com/ and I got all kinds of warnings about it being an untrusted site and the only way to get there was to add an extension to Google. When I got there after all that the site did not exist. This worries me because I fear that potential customers will get the same warnings and work arounds and will not go to a store I create.

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/30/21 at 12:39:20

Hi UniqueTreasures4U! The greenbeedecor is just an example we created to show how the webstore looks. When you set up your own store you will have a secure SSL.Let us know if you have any other questions.

KennethB1355 says: 07/30/21 at 04:37:01

Will this have category’s under products?
I know now as i went to other site and seen that you do have categories.

BonanzaShelly says in response: 07/30/21 at 12:41:04

Hi KennethB1355! Yes, the categories from your booth are carried over to your online store.
