Vintage Picture Postcard Artists Rendering RCA Satellite QSL Card W2EZM
Full color Picture Postcard of an artists rendering of the RCA Satellite bouncing signal off the earth with a somewhat detailed depiction of the moon, eerily close by.
Taped to the front right edge of the postcard is the Amateur Radio Call letters W2EZM where the call letters would normally be printed by the card publisher. The tape has come loose revealing that W2EZM did not have the cards printed for him (her).
The back (address side) features pre-printed QSL format and the information filled in on the blanks using an old fashioned manual typewriter.
The card is not dated and the salutation at the end of the remarks message merely says : "Stan" W2EZM.
Along the bottom edge is pre-printed:
RCA Government Communications Systems, Camden, NJ. A leader in Communications, Command and Control Systems.
CONDITION: The card itself is in good condition, the edges and corners are clean and show very minimal signs of wear, the only damage being the scotch taped strip of paper containing the call letters.
Although this card is not dated, we know that Whitey became W6HRA after his move to California, which was in the early 50's
In 1984, RCA Broadcast Systems Division moved from Camden, New Jersey, to the site of the RCA antenna engineering facility in Gibbsboro, New Jersey.
So it has to be sometime between 1950 & 1984 ...
