Unakite is a colorful variety of granite which shows hues of green, beige, gray, brown, salmon-pink and rusty orange.  Its unique coloring is due to the natural inclusion of bits of other minerals like quartz, pink feldspar and green epidote.  It was named after the location where it was first discovered: the Unakas Mountains in southern Appalachia in the United States.

Some people believe that Unakite is a Healing Crystal which balances physical emotions and grounds the wearer. Sometimes people wear unakite when they are recovering from major illness or during pregnancy.
