Painted surfaces need to have all wax removed. The area should be thoroughly cleaned with an alcohol based cleaner (ex. Windex) several times. Only once the area is squeaky clean, should you install your accessory. Again, when prepped properly, 3M automotive tape WILL NOT budge. Therefore, self-adhering items may NOT be returned because they "fell off" your vehicle due to improper installation.
