Description
Offered here is this fantastic antique white wicker high chair with removeable enameled metal tray. The high chair is in good condition and has obviously been very well cared for, although the wicker is scuffed in spots. This is an easy fix with a little spray paint. The wicker is also beginning to split at the base of the legs, although not badly, and this does not affect the structural integrity of the chair. I am unsure of the exact age of the high chair, but I believe that it most likely dates to the early half of the 20th century. The high chair has a partial leather seat belt that is still remaining on it. The front area where the tray slides on pivots up and over to the back of the chair to allow the baby to be taken in and out with minimal effort. The tray slides in and out of this. The tray is in good condition, but also has a lot of dings and enameling that is worn through. It has a wonderful geometric design woven into the pattern on the back of the chair. The chair has a wooden frame. The left side of the tray frame is slightly damaged at the pivot point, which causes the entire tray platform to sit a bit crooked. This too could most likely be repaired. The chair is dusty and could use a good cleaning. When in high chair position, the chair is 37.5" tall at the back, 24.5" tall at the seat, 33" tall at the tray, 31" tall at the sides, is 12.5" deep at the seat, 17" deep at the foot rest, 16" tall at the foot rest 22.25" deep at the tray, with the tray in place, 16" deep between the tray and the chair back, 21.5" deep at the feet, and about 15" across the front of the seat. This is an amazing old high chair in need of a little TLC. It is fully functional, a must-have for any antique collection, and with a little cleaning up and light repair, could be a nice useable chair as well.
