The motif of this bracelet zooms in on the central slice of a mandala, focusing on its central motif. The center looks like either a flower or a stylized sun. Because I wanted a delicate look, I chose to keep just the blue outlines, without filling in the open spaces.

Wikipedia defines a mandala as "a geometric configuration of symbols with a very different application. In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing the attention of practitioners and adepts, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space and as an aid to meditation and trance induction..... a diagram, chart, or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a time-microcosm of the universe, but it originally meant to represent wholeness and a model for the organizational structure of life itself, a cosmic diagram that shows the relation to the infinite and the world that extends beyond and within minds and bodies."

To me, a mandala is a beautiful, balanced design, whether it's simple, as in this design, or more complex.

The nearly 2,000 small beads are handwoven (without a loom), 2 beads at a time, using a technique called 2-drop peyote stitch. The technique gives the bracelet a lovely drape & feel, almost like fabric.

Measurements: 1" (2.5cm) wide, 7" (17.8cm) long, including the rose gold-tone tube slide clasp.
