This is a mint 2021 USPS stamp sheet of 20  self adhesive FOREVER stamps honoring playwright August Wilson (1945-2005), who brought nonmusical African American drama to the forefront of American Theater. This is the 44th stamp in the Black Heritage series.

The stamp features a oil paining of Wilson from a 2005 photograph. Background is a picket fence which alludes to the title of "Fences", one of his best known plays.

Art director Ethel Kessler designed the stamp with the original art by Tim O'Brien.

Measures 7-1/4" x 6" . Mint condition.
