The Cabildo is the scene of this latest plate in the Southern Landmark Series.  It was painted by John Alan Maxwell, one of the nation's renowned Southern artists.  It was produced by Gorham, the internationally famous silver and china people.  Made of the finest china, edged with 24-Karat gold, and fired not once, but four different times.

After this plate and 9,799 others are accepted, the masters are smashed, so that no more "Cabildo" plates can ever be made.  The number on the back of your plate, then, assures you that you have a one-of-a-kind heirloom that can never be copied.
