This Vintage metal tea strainer was part of some kitchen items my mother in law gave me before she passed away.  She was an avid tea drinker and made us many cups of tea when we went to visit.  She was the only one who could seep it right to taste good.  Many family arguments happened over this strainer.

The strainer has a metal scooped reservoir where you put the loose tea leaves.  There is a slight hooked metal piece which extends from the metal part so it will hook onto the other side of the cup.  This helps to aid the stability of the metal piece to not fall inside the cup.  There are holes punched into this part of the strainer to allow the hot water to go through brewing the tea leaves.  You can leave the strainer in the cup longer to continue brewing the tea.  My Mother in Law always set the wind up kitchen timer for that extra 5 minutes of brewing time.  The metal strainer is attached to a plastic handle.  The black handle has a formed design on it which to me looks like leaves.  The underside of the handle is hollow.  The two pieces are held together very well.  It would take a lot of pressure to break it.

This piece measures 6 1/2 inches long x 2 7/8 inches wide.  If you are into collecting tea strainers this one is unique and don't see to many like this one out there.
