**Teas2u Korea Jirisan Organic Jungjak Loose Leaf Green Tea** Teas2u is offering this tasty handcrafted, single estate, artisan organic green tea (nok-cha) by way of well known Jirisan tea artisan and third generation tea farmer Cho Yun Seok of Jukro (Jook-ro) tea farm. By the way, Jukro means 'bamboo dew' and Jukro Tea in Hwagae Valley is comparatively speaking a well-known mid-size tea company within South Korea. Slowly, his tasty artisinal teas are becoming more and more appreciated by Europeans for now, and it is our hope that tea drinkers in the USA will come to appreciate Jukro teas as well. This pioneering tea family has been passionately growing and making handpicked nokcha since 1962 in Jirisan, Hwagae Valley. Mr. Cho is known for producing a well-made, uniquely tasting bamboo dew' green tea. Mr. Cho's passion for making tasty tea using traditional Korean tea processing methods can be experienced in this Jungjak tea (3rd flush) harvest . Minimally processed, this tea was vigorously hand tossed and hand roasted. He has to wear multiple pairs of gloves due to blistering hot temperatures that the iron cauldron reaches when he is roasting the tea leaves. The dry tea leaves have both a dark and a light green and blue-ish appearance to them. The tea liquor is bright greenish-yellow and has a fresh, smooth, and deeply appealing taste. This delicious green tea treat comes packaged in a heat-sealed foil bag. Teas2u 50 gram foil bag is a good value for exclusive hand-plucked and handmade Korean green tea that can provide multiple steepings per pot of tea leaves.
Tea Steeping Tips: 1.) For the best tea tasting experience use spring water or reverse osmosis water. 2.) Bring water to a boil and allow it to cool down for ~ 5 minutes. 3.) Add 5 grams (~2 teaspoons) of Jungjak leaf tea to your preferred steeping vessel which has a 12 fluid oz capacity. Earthenware or porcelain teapot produce excellent results. 4.) Rinse tea leaves with the hot water for 2-3 seconds to cleanse and awaken them. Strain and discard the tea wash. 5.) Steep this Jungjak leaf tea between 20~25 seconds at 75ºC~85º /167~185 ºF on the initial infusion to prevent astringency and to prevent destroying the potentially beneficial properties of the tea leaves. Note: It is advisable to not use boiling hot water temperatures and to keep steeping times short. Increase steeping times on subsequent infusions to compensate for lower water temperatures.
Enjoy!
