145 mm x 205 mm The two cycles of the â??Slavonic Dancesâ? by the great Czech composer Antonin DvoÅák (1841â??1904) were initially connected for piano in four hands. The first cycle op. 46 (No. 1â??8) refers to 1878, while the second one op. 72 (No. 9â??16) appeared during the period of 1886â??1887. Both of them were orchestrated by the author himself, that gives the the opportunity to be considered as the original compositions for symphony orchestra. The spirit of â??Slavonic dancesâ? seems to be embodied by DvoÅák in this large-scaled opus, i. e. the Czech, Slovakian, Polish, so as the inflammatory taps of the Eastern Slavs. The composer reproduces ample diversity of melodic sphere and sharp rhythmical figures, peculiar for these folklore, nourishing the elaborative part with skillful choice of timbres and hues. The â??Slavonic Dancesâ? brought the true popularity to DvoÅák, which he has been enjoying up to nowadays.
