Here for your consideration, is a RARE, VINTAGE FISHER PRICE #212 MY FRIEND JENNY NEW IN BOX! In the late 1970's to early 80's, Fisher Price introduced a series of soft bodied dolls with vinyl limbs, lush, brushable hair, vinyl faces, and easily removable clothes and accessories. The series, called My Friend dolls, featured 5 doll characters: Mandy, Jenny, Becky, Nicky, and Mikey. Manufactured for only two years (1979-81), this FIRST EDITION Jenny doll is coveted by collectors.

This Jenny has never been played with or removed from her box. Jenny still exhibits the plastic wrapper around her head and the plastic ties around her thighs are still in place. In addition, the plastic tie anchoring her hat on her head is still intact.

Jenny's brunette hair is styled in a below shoulder length, full bodied cut. Through clever engineering, Jenny can be posed either in a standing or sitting position. Her soft body invites plenty of cuddling and her facial features are welcoming and mesmerizing. The doll comes with its original instruction booklet on the care and maintenance of these My Friend dolls as well as the original pattern for making her a nightgown. FYI, Jenny can be washed in the clothes washer and tumble dried in the dryer. Moreover, her hair can be shampooed and styled in a variety of ways.

I've tried to include a variety of photos to illustrate how remarkable Jenny really is. I did not attempt to remove her from her cardboard backing as this would have raised questions about her condition(NIB). All of her original clothes are included. Jenny's outfit consists of a chocolate brown, flower print jumper, coupled with a puffy sleeved, cream colored blouse, brown tights, shiny chocolate colored shoes, and a wide brimmed straw hat trimmed with a brown ribbon. Her clothes are easy to remove or put in place thanks to their velcro closures. I cannot spy any "imperfections" in either her appearance or that of her clothes.

Jenny's box shows considerable wear (e.g. tears on the bottom right hand corners of the box, loose cellophane, some scattered rubs, fading, a residual price tag etc.). All flaps are intact. I have attempted to reanchor the original cellophane with Rubber Cement and have taped the tear with heavy duty tape on the interior of the box. I would categorize this box as being a 6.5 on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being perfect. Don't miss out on this RARE find. Of all the My Friend dolls, the #212 Jenny doll is my favorite. Her warm, dark brown eyes, coupled with her long, silky brunette hair and blushing cheeks, stole my heart years ago. I now have two of them in my personal collection. One is MINT in box and the other is for my future grandchildren to play with---that is, if my adult children ever get married and have kids:)

Jenny weighs approximately 2 lbs. UNWRAPPED and my location is Lafayette, IN (47905).

I’ve been finding Fed Ex has been running @33% cheaper than the USPS (including Parcel Post) and UPS Ground. FYI, another benefit of using either Fed Ex or UPS is that their quote includes up to $100 worth of FREE insurance. Additional amounts of insurance may be purchased for a nominal fee (that is much less than the USPS). Fed Ex also provides automated tracking updates re: your parcel’s whereabouts directly to your personal e-mail account.

In order to ship Fed Ex (or UPS for that matter), I MUST have a residential or work place address, NOT a P.O. Box number, as well as a home or cell phone. Otherwise, they will not accept the shipping paperwork or transport your item.

Since Bonanza's shipping calculator does NOT offer Fed Ex Home Delivery as a shipping option, PLEASE DO NOT SEND PAYMENT UNTIL I HAVE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO MANUALLY CHECK THESE RATES AND INSERT THEM INTO YOUR INVOICE. Otherwise, the shipping calculator may overcharge you.

Packages traveling to Alaska or Hawaii will be shipped Parcel Post via the USPS. Insurance and delivery confirmation are required.
