 Vintage Fisher Price Little People #992 Car and Camper Complete/VG++-EXC condition! 
 Here for your consideration is a COMPLETE Fisher Price Car and Camper (#992) play set. Manufactured between 1980-84, this set is 100% COMPLETE and is in VG++-EXC condition.
The play set consists of a red and white station wagon with a fold-down back seat, a yellow and green 4 passenger boat that rests on top of the station wagon, a pop-up tent camper with fold-down steps and built-in kitchen and sleeping quarters, and a yellow storage container that fits on top of the tent trailer when it's collapsed.
The station wagon's lithos are in EXC++ condition. The only "flaw" I can discern is some minimal wear on the upper edge of the litho on the right hand side of the vehicle. There are no tears, marks, or stains on either of the station wagon's lithos.
As far as the plastic surfaces of the jeep, I can detect some surface scratches (particularly on the corners of the front bar over the driver and passenger seats and on the hood of the vehicle), numerous tiny indentations on the front bumper and grill, some minor "dings" beside the rear "tail lights," and a 1/8"L x 1/8 W" indentation in the middle of the front bar over the driver and passenger seats. These don't jump out at you but they are present so I feel obligated to report them. Other than some minor yellowing on the rear bumper, I do not discern any other imperfections on this piece. The tires are bright and shiny and do NOT evidence any "road wear." Overall, I would rate this jeep as being in EXC condition.
The pop-up tent trailer is in NEAR MINT condition. The camper lithos are sharp and vibrant with no rubs, stains, creases, marks, or tears being apparent. The lithos are bright and clean--no fading here. The top canvas cover is fully intact and free of any stains, fading, tears etc. It possesses its original, bright, canary yellow color. After much searching, I detected two faint, pin-head size marks above the left corner window. I may be able to get this out with some SHOUT. All in all, it's one of the BEST cloth tops I've ever come across.
The plastic surfaces on the pop-up tent trailer are free of any cracks, chips, breaks, or repairs. I can spy two, miniscule "dings" on the front edge of one of the beds along with another on the front edge of the other bed. There are some light surface scratches on the outer plastic surfaces but these are not visible when the camper is fully deployed. I also believe most of these will fade away with some Armor All wipes and buffing. Unlike many pop up campers, the drop down step stays fully closed until it is depressed.
The yellow/green boat is in VG+-VG++ condition with some surface scratching and dulling of the yellow finish on the bottom of the boat. I think a gentle buffing with Armor All Wipes may alleviate some of these. The interior of the boat likewise displays some light surface scratches and some dulling on the bolts. I may be able to get the latter to shine again with a generous application of Naval Jelly.
The yellow storage container is in VG+ condition. The litho is free of any bubbles, creases, marks, edge wear etc. Other than some light surface scratches and rubs over the FP logo and in the center of the piece, the litho is fully intact. The hinge for the car top carrier is PERFECT!
The accessories for this ENDEARING set include:
1 HTF red motorcycle (EXC++; the wheels exhibit little, if any," road wear");
1 VHTF lime green picnic table w/steak litho (EXC++--tad amount of edge wear on the litho; this is the original litho and not a reproduction);
2 VHTF lime green picnic benches (both NEAR MINT);
2 VHTF lime green lounge chairs (both NEAR MINT);
1 VHTF yellow 3 legged grill with hot dogs and steak litho (VG+--several pin-head size punctures and some minor edge wear around the perimeter of the litho; NOTE: this is NOT the original grill that came with this set; the original grill had a solid "Y" underpinning instead of 3 separate, spindle legs; since I didn't have any "Y-shaped" grills, I substituted this one in its stead);
and 4 ALL PLASTIC LITTLE PEOPLE. These include:
1 tall, green bodied Dad with heat stamped hair (VG+--some fading of eyes and brows);
1 tall, blue bodied Mom with blonde pony (NEAR MINT--one barely discernible scratch on the lower right hand side of her face);
1 VHTF, short red bodied girl with blonde bangs and bobbed hair (EXC-- some minor wear on the bottom edge of the piece and some light scratches on the girl's body); and
and 1 HTF yellow bodied boy with red cap, smiling face, and freckles (EXC++-NEAR MINT--"hint" of a couple of indentations on the brim of his cap; these are extremely hard to spot unless you hold the little guy up to within 3" of your eyes and rotate him in the light; otherwise, he's in MINT condition).
Most of the accessories fit inside the storage container while the family is traveling (e.g. picnic benches, lounge chairs, picnic table, and grill). How my Dad would have appreciated this. I can recall him struggling to cram our tent, camp stove, cookware, clothes etc. into our trunk. Later, we acquired a car top carrier. Sadly, we soon had that stuffed as well:(
This is a SWEET set and a hard one to find with all its pieces and in this condition. This set would be suitable for a beginning Fisher Price collector or some lucky child. It'd also be a UNIQUE toy to have on hand at Grandma and Grandpa's house when the grandchildren come for a visit:).
I will be thoroughly Q-tip cleaning this set and all its accessories using a variety of cleaning products (e.g. Dawn Antibacterial Dish Soap, Goo-Gone, Soft Scrub, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser etc. etc.). I routinely spend a MINIMUM of 1 -1 1/2 hours cleaning every set I sell so you can be confident it'll be spanking clean!
These playsets are NOT a part of the recent Fisher Price recall for toys imported from China. These sets are NOT designed for children that are still mouthing toys or below 3 years of age. Adult supervision is strongly recommended.
