This Vintage Copy of The American Mercury from August 1929 has articles of all sorts including Americana and Banking.  One interesting article discuss "A Moral Crisis in Banking".  Good topic considering that America was in the Great Depression at the time of publication.  A very controversial article is entitled, "Keeping the Negro in his Place" while another article is entitled "Black Ulysses Goes To War" and "Heap Big Chief".  Articles sometimes covered controversial topics, happenings in the theater, new books being released, etc.  There is also some really great advertising as well.
