Based on a true crime in the Australian Outback, three young adults, Ben (Phillips), Liz (Cassandra Magrath), and Kristy (Kestie Morassi) are on a cross-country road trip. Stopping at an enormous metereor crater park, WOLF CREEK, they go on a four-hour hike. Having purchased a cheap junker for the trek, the threesome find they've been stranded in the bush when they return to the car and it fails to start.

In an unlikely stroke of luck, a tow truck-driving bushman named Mick (Jarratt) appears and assures them he can repair the car but must tow them back to his compound. Since Mick appears to be more 'Crocodile Dundee' than Freddy Krueger, the trio trusts him...which proves to be a grave mistake. So begins the unrelenting stream of bondage, squirm-in-your-seat torture, escape, discovery of numerous victims cars, and nail-biting footchase across the desert and deserted highways.
