Pre-viewed for quality and played great on my Emerson vcr. Everything is nice and clean including cassette and good color on the box too. Box has a little normal shelf wear around the corners and edges with a couple of small sticker shadows on the top endflap. Out Of Print and no longer being manufactured in any format.

Effective supernatural thriller set in New Orleans at Mardi Gras time when cop Robert Davi ('Profiler' TV series) tangles with the Devil (Ironside). Satan killed Davi's father 20 years before and now wants to destroy everything that Davi loves-- ex-wife Lesley Anne Down, girlfriend Lydia Denier (has a topless scene) and partner Mike Starr.

There's ample pyrotechnics and stunt work (the Devil leaps out of windows and over cars) and some good cross-cutting editing between the Devil making love to a sadistic prostitute and Davi and Denier coupling. The script by director David A. Prior captures the emotional involvement of the characters and offers well-defined roles for police chief John Amos and voodoo expert Margaret Avery (as Sadie), who provides background that the Mardi Gras holiday began in Europe 800 years ago to celebrate the rites of spring and involved bloody sacrifices by the church.
