Box has been cut and mounted in a white, hard plastic clamshell keepcase. Bottom end of clamshell has 'ACT' wrote on it in very light yellow marker. See photo for obvious stickers on the front and there is another small one on the top left spine. Out Of Print (OOP) in all formats and no longer being manufactured.
The cassette is in good shape and has a security strip barcode on the endcap assuring you of first generation quality. Pre-viewed for such and it had a few flips at 3 minutes into the begining (bar scene), but otherwise it played fine.
David Warbeck stars as the title LAST HUNTER, Captain Henry Morris, first seen during the waning days of the Vietnam War witnessing a high-strung fellow soldier going on a murderous and ultimately suicidal rampage at a whorehouse. Still filled with rage and confusion, he's given the challenging assignment of taking down a local radio outfit broadcasting dangerous propaganda messages, with plucky reporter Jane Foster (Tisa Farrow) accompanying him on an explosive-riddled journey into the heart of the jungle.
The story itself follows the 'Apocalypse Now' template of soldiers embarking on a travelogue-style journey through Vietnam and encountering a variety of eccentric set-pieces along the way. It piles on the explosions, bloody dismembermants, and nudity (including Ms. Farrow) with no apologies whatsoever.
From the master of jungle genre pictures, Antonio Margheritti aka "Anthony M. Dawson". Often shooting on location under extreme circumstances he made a number of memorable jungle films. 'Indio', 'Jungle Raiders', 'Tiger Joe', 'Codename: Wildgeese', 'Tornado' and 'Hunters of the Golden Cobra' to name a few more.
Oddly enough, 1980 saw him deliver no-less than two spin-offs from 'Apocalypse Now': the Vietnam-vets-turn-flesh-eaters 'Cannibal Apocalypse' and, for those with more mainstream tastes, The LAST HUNTER.
