Description
Antique Doll
German
Rauenstein Porzellanfabrik
6"
Cabinet
Doll
In as found condition
Head is actually detached from the body
It has a wig that was glued on with alot of glue
There still is glue on the head. Not sure how to remove it
It has an addition hole on the forehead of the doll -- perfect circle, so it is how the doll was made and I am told that these dolls sometimes had a hole. Don't know what it is for.
It is on a composition or paper mache body with painted feet
Not sure exactly what the body is made of
Arms are held on with pins, as is normal for this type of doll
Painted socks and shoes on feet, although the legs look like they have been repaired in multiple places (see photos)
One leg looks like it has 2 repairs, the other looks like 1 repair. Below the knee. These are very obvious repairs.
Arms and parts of legs are a light color and look to be bisque.
The body and top parts of the legs are a darker color
The glue on the head is thick around the neck and lightly covering the top of the head. I don't want to damage the doll by trying to remove it.
Paint looks nice on the lips and cheeks. Eyes have lashes and also look nice. Eyes look like glass.
She is sold as found
Most of our items are antique or vintage. We make every effort to describe them accurately and honestly. All items are purchased from Estate Sales, Auctions or private sales. I am not the original owner unless stated in the listing. My NEW items are bought new in the box from other sources and are listed as pre-owned unused. I buy from people who claim to be non-smoking, but the history of my items are HISTORY UNKNOWN. Vintage and antique items are at least 30 years old and not new, even if unused. If you want BRAND new these items straight from the factory, then these items are not for you.
