Formulaic but entertaining disaster movie about a scientist from the U.S. Geological Survey who sniffs around a mountainside town in Washington just below a volcano that he feels is going to blow at any minute. Along the way he falls in love with the town's mayor. The characters are likable and the effects are completely convincing.
