Vibrocil Nasal Spray & Drops Congestion Chronic Acute Rhinitis/Sinusitis
Directions:
Colds, acute and chronic rhinitis, seasonal allergic rhinitis (fan fever) and non-seasonal, acute and chronic sinusitis, pre- and post-operative care. Adjuvant in acute otitis media. Vibrocil gel is especially recommended in cases of dry nasal mucosa, crusts or sequelae of nasal trauma, as well as to keep the nose clean during the night.
contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to one of the constituents. Like other vasoconstrictors, phenylephrine is contraindicated in atrophic rhinitis with or without oocytes, in patients undergoing MAOI treatment or who discontinued this therapy less than 2 weeks ago.
Precautions:
Vibrocil should not be used for longer than 2-3 weeks. Prolongation of treatment may induce tachyphylaxis, reflex congestion or iatrogenic rhinitis. As for all vasoconstrictors, it is recommended not to exceed the prescribed dose, especially in children and the elderly; Excessive use of Vibrocil (and implicitly of phenylephrine contained) may cause systemic reactions. It is indicated to avoid treatment with Vibrocil in the case of hypertension or other cardiovascular disease, hyperthyroidism and glaucoma. Phenylephrine requires the use of Vibrocil with caution in cases of over-reaction to sympathomimetics, revealed by the appearance of insomnia or dizziness. In children under 6 years of age it is preferable to use Vibrocil drops. Pregnancy and lactation: Since there are no relevant studies, pregnancy and lactation are used for treatment with Vibrocil insofar as the therapeutic benefits of the mother outweigh the possibility of adverse reactions in the child.
Side effects:
In rare cases, a transient drying reaction of the nasal mucosa has been observed.
Composition:
Nasal drops, nasal spray: Active ingredients: Dimetinden maleate 0.25 mg, phenylephrine 2.5 mg; flavored; preservatives: benzalkonium chloride; excipients ad solution for 1 ml. Nasal gel: Active ingredients: Dimetinden maleate 0.25 mg, phenylephrine 2.5 mg; flavored; preservatives: benzalkonium chloride; gel excipients for 1 g.
Action:
Vibrocil cleanses the nose respecting the physiology of the vibrating cells and nasal mucosa. By its selective action on the alpha 1-adrenergic receptors of the cavernous venous system of the nasal mucosa, phenylephrine exerts a mild vasoconstrictive effect that allows rapid and lasting decongestion. Dimethindene maleate, an antihistamine anti H1, is an effective low dose and well tolerated anti-allergic substance.
Administration:
Droplets: after blowing the nose, apply 3-4 times a day in each nostril: Children under 1 year: one drop, preferably before meals. Children between 1-6 years: 1-2 drops. Children over 6 years and adults: 3-4 drops. The administration is preferred in the sitting position, and after instillation the head is bent on the back to promote penetration: Nasal spray: Hold the vertical atomizer by inserting its head into a nostril while the other is closed by pressing and then compressed strongly and short the container. Children over 6 years and adults: after blowing the nose, apply 1-2 sprays in each nostril, 3 times a day. Nasal gel: Children over 6 years and adults: after blowing the nose, apply Vibrocil gel in each nostril, as deep as possible, 3-4 times a day. An application before bedtime keeps the nose clean at night.
